MyDosti – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs your use of the MyDosti mobile application (“App”), developed and maintained by Amar Talwar (“we”, “us”, or “our”). The App is provided to facilitate social connection, messaging, and calling.

1. Information We Collect

When you use MyDosti, we may collect the following types of information to provide, secure, and monetize our services:

A. Personal Information

* Account Data: When you sign in using Google or Phone Authentication, we collect basic profile information such as your Name, Email Address, Phone Number, and Profile Picture to create and secure your account.

* User Profile: Information you voluntarily provide, such as your Gender, Purpose for joining (e.g., “Make Friends”, “Vent”), and Spoken Language preference.

B. Permissions & Device Data

To provide features like chat and calling, MyDosti requires specific permissions:

* Microphone & Audio: Required to send voice notes and conduct voice/video calls.

* Camera: Required for video calls and updating your profile picture.

* Storage / Media: Required to send images or videos in chat and to save your profile settings locally.

* Location: Approximate location data is collected if you choose to share your location in a chat, and is used to connect you with nearby users.

C. Usage & Advertising Data

* Device Identifiers: We collect your Android Advertising ID and App Set ID to serve personalized advertisements.

* App Activity & Diagnostics: We collect app interaction details (such as features used, ad taps, video views, and crash logs) to help us fix bugs, prevent fraud, and improve performance.

2. User Content & Moderation

MyDosti allows you to send text messages, images, video, and audio.

* Chat Privacy: Your messages are processed to deliver them to the intended recipient.

* Content Moderation: To ensure a safe environment, uploaded media (such as profile pictures and chat images) may be automatically scanned using secure moderation services (such as Google Cloud Vision) to detect explicit or violent content.

* Media Ownership: You retain ownership of your content. By sending media, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display it within the App solely for the purpose of delivery.

3. Third-Party Services & Advertising

MyDosti integrates with trusted third-party services to operate properly. These providers handle data according to their own privacy policies:

* Google AdMob: We use third-party advertising companies, such as Google AdMob, to serve ads. AdMob collects your device's Advertising ID, approximate location, and app interaction data to provide relevant ads and analyze ad performance.

* Google Firebase & Play Services: Used for user authentication, app security, push notifications, and in-app billing.

* ZegoCloud: Facilitates real-time voice and video calling.

* Cloudflare: Used for secure cloud storage of media files.

* Razorpay: Processes secure payments for subscriptions and in-app purchases.

* Fast2SMS: Used to securely deliver OTP verification codes.

4. Data Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. Data may be disclosed only in the following situations:

* Legal Compliance: When required by law or legal process.

* Safety: To protect users, prevent fraud, enforce our Community Guidelines, or respond to lawful government requests.

* Service Providers: To trusted technical partners operating under strict confidentiality agreements to facilitate app functionality.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

* Retention: We retain your profile data and chat history while your account remains active.

* Deletion: You may delete your account at any time via the Settings → Delete Account option, or by contacting us at mogahelpteam@gmail.com. Upon deletion, your profile, active sessions, and associated media are permanently removed from our live databases and cloud storage within 90 days.

6. Children’s Privacy

MyDosti is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we discover that a user is under 18, their account and data will be deleted immediately.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS encryption, to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
