This is the primary study model used by LMN Architects during the design of the Summit Building, the recent addition to the Seattle Convention Center. This new addition acts as a catalyst for revitalizing and re-connecting Seattle’s core neighborhoods, functioning as a hub for community interaction.
This model played a key role in studying design concepts within the office and communicating design intention with the community. Over the course of the design process this model underwent constant modification as the scheme continued to evolve, and made countless trips to City Hall to aid in presentations and discussions about the design of the massive project.
Note that this model was not intended to be presented alone, but was displayed within the context of its site alongside models of dozens of neighboring buildings, extending two blocks in every direction from the site. The fully assembled model was over 50sqft in area. Each time the model was brought to a meeting with the city, it filled three minivans to the brim!
