Our project showcases circular building practices using mass timber building systems for a multi-family residential building. Our approach emphasizes the re-use and re-purposing of timber as a renewable resource, contributing to the creation of sustainable future communities.
By utilizing mass timber components and modules in our design and construction process, we are embracing the principles of circularity. These components can be carefully disassembled and re-used in future design projects, extending the lifespan of the timber and reducing waste. This re-use of timber helps to conserve natural resources, as well as minimize the carbon footprint associated with new construction.
Moreover, our design focuses on adaptability and flexibility. The modular nature of mass timber building systems allows for easy reconfiguration of spaces to meet changing needs over time. As communities evolve, our building can adapt and accommodate new requirements without the need for extensive demolition or reconstruction. This adaptability ensures the longevity of the structure and reduces waste generation.
