1120 John Street

Designed by Perkins & Will, the 1120 John Street project is a full block development in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood, bordered by Fairview Avenue, Boren Avenue, Thomas Street and John Street.

As a full block development, the project design enhances the neighborhood's connection to nature and the environment with multiple ways to move through and amongst central sunlit paseo.

The model represents a portion of one of the two office towers on the site. The towers are folded and angled in their form which creates a dynamic connection with the sky and helps to reflect sunlight through the site and landscape. The texture on the curtainwall connects with the larger scale folded forms while creating a finer scale and grain that adjusts with solar orientation and exposure.
