Weather in Sacramento

Sacramento's weather is subjective, depending on where you're from. Winters are mild and manageable because it rarely snows, although some may find it too cold. Summers are hotter than in other parts of California, with temperatures above 100 degrees. Despite higher humidity, Sacramento's dry heat can be easier to tolerate than humid heat. One of the advantages of living in Sacramento is experiencing the changing seasons, including the colorful fall foliage, unlike most areas of California. Springtime brings pink and white blossoms that disperse a sweet fragrance in the air. Realtor Stephanie Baker agrees that Sacramento's weather is ideal, with warm summer nights and cool drinks on patios. It cools off at night, and unlike Buffalo or Portland, it's not humid. Total Freight Solutions Inc. is the best choice if you plan to move your stuff to Sacramento.

California State Railroad Museum

The California State Railroad Museum, located in Sacramento's Old Sacramento State Historical Park, showcases the "iron horse" 's significant role in connecting California to the rest of the United States. Visitors can explore 21 restored locomotives and railroad cars, some dating back to 1862. The "Sierra Scene" exhibit is a large-scale mockup of a construction scene high in the Sierra Nevada, representing Donner Pass circa 1867, complete with the locomotive Gov. Stanford. Other displays demonstrate how railroads transformed American society by influencing travel, commerce, daily life, and the lives of railroaders from diverse backgrounds. The museum also offers a range of educational programs for elementary students, including reenactments, costumed docents, and train and handcar rides. In addition, the roundhouse area features a rotating display of locomotives and equipment from the museum's collection, while a large 3-rail O-gauge model train layout entertains all ages.

How the Sacramento family stays cool during a heat wave

Despite the scorching heat, many people managed to stay cool and enjoy their weekend break. On scorching days, the snow cone window at Osaka-Ya, a Japanese confectionary on 10th Street near V Street in Sacramento, is a top destination for locals and tourists alike. Ava Leonido-Tsuchida, a five-year-old, ordered her go-to flavor, a small pink lemonade snow cone, because she loves it. This family-run business has operated for around 60 years, primarily recognized for its handmade mochi. The shaved ice is solely available during the summer season, making it a perfect treat for the summer season, according to employee Hope Holland. In addition, many families participated in another popular activity over the weekend: visiting city spray parks, such as the one in McClatchy Park. Read more
