Palaeontological Research

About this website

My name is Sven Sachs. I am a palaeoherpetologist and Associate Researcher at the Naturkunde-Museum Bielefeld in Germany. My research focuses on Mesozoic fossil tetrapods, particularly marine reptiles, including plesiosaurs, mosasaurs, sea turtles and thalattosuchian crocodyliforms. I am, however, also interested in dinosaurs and temnospondyl amphibians. My ongoing work is introduced under Projects. A list of my scientific and popular papers can be found at Publications.

I have established several new species as lead author, or co-author (New species).

I am indebted to the numerous people who have supported my research over the past 20 years, either by providing access to specimens, or direct collaboration as co-authors and palaeoartists. Some of my co-workers are introduced under Collaborators.

I hope you will find this website informative. If you have any queries about my research, please feel free to contact me.
