The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen is a vibrant and highly-regarded academic community of researchers, educators, and students dedicated to advancing the field of mathematics.
Actuarial research and education has a long tradition in Copenhagen, dating back to the work of Thorvald N. Thiele (1838 – 1910). Today, all the activitites are encompassed within the Section for Insurance and Economics.
