About Me

I'm a Senior Research Fellow and Health Economist at The University of Queensland's Centre for the Business and Economics of Health (CBEH). My research uses applied microeconometrics, i.e., causal inference, and discrete choice modelling techniques to study topics around aged care, cognitive function, mental health, and health service planning.

I'm interested in how individuals and health systems respond to the challenges of an ageing population, from the economic burden of dementia care to generational trends in physical and mental health. My work has been published in journals including JAMA Network Open, Social Science & Medicine, and Journal of Population Economics, and has been covered in media outlets like The Guardian.

I also teach Health Economics at UQ, supervise PhD and Masters students, and co-convene the Australian Health Economics Society's Special Interest Group on Ageing, Aged Care and Dementia.
