In 1797, the British defeated the Black Carib, who had been supported by the French, in a battle for control of the Windward Caribbean island of St. Vincent. Weary of their resistance to British plans for sugar plantations, the British rounded up the St. Vincent Black Carib and deported them to Roatán

Josue Elias Mejia Santos, local tour operator of the small family company LET'S GO ROATAN TOURS,

Married with my lovely wife Ana Rosa Calero for over 14 years, we have 2 children, their names are Ashley, 12 years old and the baby boy Josue 2, years of age.

I've been working on the tourist industry since I was 9 so I can say, have lot of this experience in the field, and I really enjoy talking about the island history, our rich cultural diversity and island development.

Other jobs I've been involve are translations, customer service at a computer store, (maintenance, fix and repair), land care, diving, snorkeling tour, zip-line tour guide and animal sanctuary tour guide.

Josue Elias Mejia Santos Driver / Tour guide I've been a tour guide on the island since I was 9 years old, this is how the story goes,

My father came here Roatan as in Watchman, for a Hotel, year 1994.

He will then convince people to stay at the hotel and as they ask him questions he would tell them that if they would like to see the island, they can rent a car, put my son in the back (me) and he will show you the island... My father Sabas Mejia "The Hat man of Roatan" has always been a good salesman, he makes hats out of palm leaves, that he sells on the beach for $10.

This was me, 9 years of age, made me learn lots of thing with lots of different people from all over the world. If you want to have a real historical and cultural experience in Roatan, you have to book a tour with me!
