Module 7: Extending Student Digital Learning Experiences

Module 7 provides you with the opportunity to revisit earlier topics and to deepen your personal knowledge and to conceptualize how you can apply that knowledge to teaching and learning in your classroom. In this module, you will have the opportunity to:

• review previous learning and further deepen your knowledge and understanding of the SAMR framework/model.
• conceptualize a selected lesson at each of the different levels of SAMR.
• revisit previous topics (namely G-Suite, Flipped Learning, and Newsela) and further develop your knowledge, skill, and proficiency using them.
• explore concepts of digital literacy and opportunities to promote digital literacy through student learning experiences.

When you've successfully completed this module, you should be able to:

• describe the structure, content, and purpose of the SAMR model, convey what distinguishes lessons/learning experiences across the different SAMR levels, and be familiar with approaches to designing a learning experience at a "next up" SAMR level for you and your learners.
• identify at least one key element of digital literacy and describe how you would support it.
