The Great Salt Lake area was once covered by an ancient ocean, which receded, later to be replaced by a freshwater lake, and today, with a much smaller salty lake and a dry valley. I draw connections between the long, convoluted ecosystem of this area and the history of American and specifically mormon feminism. This piece focuses on what questions are posed by the sparse evidence we do have.
