Hi, I am Jihoon Ryu a postdoctoral researcher at Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA), working with Dr. Yoo-Jeong Noh.

I have a strong interest in satellite-based studies of clouds and precipitation! 😄

My primary research interests using satellite observations are:

1) Global extreme rainfall/snowfall cloud and its microphysical characteristics 

2) Cloud microphysical characteristics in tropical and extratropical cyclones

3) Evaluation of PMW precipitation estimates using GPM observation

4) Inter-satellite adjustment of PMW precipitation estimates based on a deep learning-based super-resolution approach
