ABOUT RYAN

Dr. Ryan Rebozo is an engaged member of the Bradford community and has served town government as a commissioner of Bradford Conservation Commission (BCC) for the past 3 years. In addition to volunteering on BCC, Ryan brings 7 years of effective experience in municipal, county, and state board leadership including: Monroe Township Environmental Commission (Chair), Burlington County Soil Conservation District, and Vermont Agricultural Innovation Board. Additionally, Ryan has leadership experience from service to the following nonprofit and scientific advisory organizations: Allies in Caring, Wild Bird Research Group, Philadelphia Botanical Club (President), New Jersey Native Plant Society, Vermont Flora Scientific Advisory Group, Barnegat Bay Partnership Science and Technical Advisory Board, and Partnership for New Jersey Plant Conservation (Chair).


For his day job, Ryan is an ecologist who studies land management in dynamic natural communities. He is the Director of Conservation Science for the Vermont Center for Ecostudies where he provides high-level program oversight, budget development, funding strategies, and builds external collaborations. He has professional experience developing complex organizational budgets, seeking and securing grant funding from a variety of sources, and managing a high-performing team of scientists. Ryan also has experience teaching at the college level and currently works with educators in the Upper Valley interested in place-based education.

 

As a Bradford resident and homeowner, Ryan lives on Kidder Road with his dog Moose. He enjoys tending to his garden, raising chickens, tapping his maple trees, and cutting firewood. You might find Ryan and Moose at the Elizabeth Park dog park, scouting for turkey on Wrights Mountain, or fishing from their canoe near Bugbee Landing.


Ryan looks forward to bringing his organizational and board experience to the Bradford Selectboard to better support residents, other Selectboard members, and the volunteer commissions that make so much happen. He is looking forward to engaging with more residents around town and finding new opportunities to get involved.
