For this project I was Lead Programmer and CEO, developing the entirety of Spondooli, Boom 'N Bust, and the vast-majority of Teacher Edition. This involved me to develop my own stock data collection scripts in Python, database back-end for accounts as well as the API to interface with said accounts in the game, debug and diagnostic utilities, anti-cheat, UI, real-time game hosting for Boom 'N Bust, power and performance management routines, and so much more. These games, released publicly on the App Store and Google Play Store were sold to and used by multiple schools as well as hundreds of users around the world.
Spondooli LLC is a company I founded and ran as owner from 2019 until 2025. Under which, over 3 years I developed and marketed 3 financial literacy education games: Spondooli, Boom 'N Bust, and Spondooli Teacher Edition. They were all designed for the education environment and thus were sold to schools, although individual use was just as common.
Spondooli is the centerpiece, a mobile stock-marketing simulation game where you learn the ins and outs of trading and banking through its intuitive teaching system. You start with a $10,000 loan from the bank and through exploring the many real-time live stocks learn how to grow rich and avoid financial ruin.
Spondooli Boom 'N Bust is a mini game mode designed for the classroom setting. Student join a teacher-hosted game where they all trade stocks through a given period of stock market history at an accelerated pace, upwards of 5 days per second. However, the stocks, while using real data from the stock market, have fake names, which force the students to rely on the graphs, news headlines being shown, power-ups, and their own trading knowledge to win.
Spondooli Teacher Edition ties this all together, providing a straightforward tool for teachers to host classes, track their students' performance, assign projects, grade assignments, and run Boom 'N Bust games.
