"Buried deep beneath the earth, a ruined Group 935 facility once home to secret experiments now lies in decay. The team must uncover the dark secrets hidden within its crumbling halls that threaten to consume all who enter..."
My goal when creating this level was to make a fun and interesting zombies map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. I achieved this by following existing zombie map design conventions and implementing them into my custom map. One of the key elements I wanted to achieve in this project was making a challenging map that feels like it could be slotted into the vanilla map pool in terms of design and difficulty.
This map was made for my Experimental Level Design module at university, but then later polished and finished for GradEx. I had full choice on my engine and decide on learning Radiant to expand my knowledge into different game creation software.

For this project, I:
Researched and Designed a map for BO3
Created a multiplayer shooter map using the Radiant Level Editor
Participated in many group playtests, and iterated my designs
Published my map publicly on the Steam Workshop
Scripted in a proprietary language all of the mechanics
Decorated the map with environmental storytelling, meshing, lighting, and VFX
I have continued this project up until GradEx to make it a fully-fledged map. This included:
Detailing the map more and adding environmental storytelling elements
Improving individual room elevation for better gameplay experiences
Improving the lighting to give variation in rooms
Adding a boss enemy to improve the challenge of the map
Implementing additional systems, including traps and a Wunderfizz machine
I am incredibly proud with the final result of the map and the steam statistics show proof of the map's quality. As of current, the map has:
10,196 Unique Visitors
1,645 Current Subscribers (current downloads)
92 Current Favourites
