About our Events

Meetups - We get together at least three times a week at  Richmond area parks, galleries,  and bars to play chess, socialize, and have fun! Games are friendly, casual, and unrated.  Check the calendar for more details. It's good opportunity to meet your next best chess friends.

Chess Lessons - We provide free group lessons for people of all ages . These are hosted on Saturday afternoons from 12:00-1:00 PM at the Institute of Contemporary Art at Broad and Belvidere, 601 W. Broad St.

Tournaments - We are have both unrated Fun Tournaments as well as rated blitz, rapid and long tournaments.  More information on both can be found under our tournaments tab.  A great opportunity to compete in a structured setting and earn bragging rights!

What to Bring

For any of our events, we encourage you to bring a chess board, pieces, and a clock if you have them. We try to provide equipment for everyone, but it's always helpful to have extra gear on hand.  Need to find chess equipment? Visit US Chess sales.
