I have been very lucky to have had such a wonderful loving mother, and for so many years. Mum, how I miss you. You always brought such happiness into my life, and the lives of others, with your fun-loving nature. You were the rarest of gems. On meeting you, people would often say to me "Your mum is such a lovely lady". Your kindness and compassion for others would always shine through. You were a devoted wife to dad, and an equally devoted mother to me. No son could have hoped for more.
I remember the wonderful handwriting. Your first-class skills at cooking. The best and tastiest meals I ever had were made by you. In your earlier years spent in Northern Ireland, you were manager of a dress shop. So skilful and creative as a seamstress, and making stylish alterations to any garment. Also, you had a profound insight into nature, and this was of immense help to me when I was engaged in scientific and mathematical research. A very classy lady. Always very stylish in your dress, and the way you did your hair. A gentle soul with a beautiful face.
Dear mother, your death was such a shock, and I arrived at the hospital too late to say goodbye. If I could have one simple wish, it would be to spend another day in your delightful company. To see that captivating smile and to hear your lovely voice once again. Your love will never die. Thank you mum for sharing your life with me. You will always be in my heart and in my thoughts.
