Privacy Policy for PDFScanner Image

NEXTAPPS.TECH ("NEXTAPPS.TECH," "we," "us," or "our") provides the NextPDF mobile application ("NextPDF" or the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use NextPDF.
## 1. Summary
NextPDF is designed as an offline-first document scanner, PDF creator, OCR tool, and local document manager. Your document images, PDFs, extracted text, filenames, and related document data are processed and stored locally on your device. We do not operate an account system or a server that uploads or stores your documents.
NextPDF does connect to limited third-party services for country detection and advertising SDK initialization, as described below. Documents and extracted text are not sent to those services by NextPDF.
## 2. Information handled by NextPDF
Depending on the features you choose to use, the App may handle:
- photos and images you select or capture;
- scanned document pages;
- PDFs and word-processing files you create or import;
- text recognized through optical character recognition (OCR) or entered by you;
- filenames, document names, page counts, file sizes, creation and modification dates, favorites, and processing status;
- source pages you choose to retain so that OCR or PDF processing can be run again;
- thumbnails and temporary processing files; and
- App preferences, such as language, OCR language, and whether original scan pages should be retained.
This information is used to provide the App's document scanning, creation, conversion, organization, preview, search, sharing, and export features.
## 3. Local processing and storage
PDF creation, image processing, and OCR are performed on your device. NextPDF stores documents and related metadata in the App's private storage area on your device. NextPDF does not provide a cloud-sync service and does not upload your documents to a NEXTAPPS.TECH server.
Your device's operating system or a backup service that you enable may back up App data. Those backups are controlled by the operating-system or backup provider and are subject to that provider's terms and privacy policy.
NextPDF does not currently include a NEXTAPPS.TECH analytics or crash-reporting service.
## 4. Camera, photos, and files
NextPDF may request access to the camera, photo library, or files only when needed for a feature you choose, such as scanning a page, selecting images, or importing a document. You can manage permissions in your device settings. Denying a permission may prevent the related feature from working.
## 5. Platform scanning and OCR services
On Android, scanning and text recognition may use Google Play services and Google ML Kit. On iOS, scanning and text recognition use Apple VisionKit and Vision. These integrations perform document detection and text recognition on the device. NextPDF does not send your document images, PDF contents, filenames, or OCR text to a NEXTAPPS.TECH server.

## 6. Country detection and advertising services
When NextPDF starts, it attempts to determine a country code so that it initializes no more than one advertising service:
- Yandex Mobile Ads for Russia and Kazakhstan; or
- Google Mobile Ads for other successfully resolved countries.
The App first checks the country reported by the device or SIM. If that information is unavailable, the App requests a country code from [api.country.is](https://country.is/). The request necessarily reveals your public IP address to that service. According to the service's published information, it does not log requests. NextPDF does not send document content or user-entered text with this request. If a country cannot be determined, neither advertising SDK is initialized.
An initialized advertising SDK may automatically process information such as your IP address or approximate location, device or advertising identifiers, App interactions, and diagnostic information for purposes including advertising, measurement, security, and fraud prevention. The precise information and purposes depend on the provider, device, region, consent choices, and provider settings. NextPDF does not provide your document images, PDF contents, filenames, or OCR text to an advertising SDK.

## 7. Sharing, exporting, and printing
Your content leaves NextPDF only when you choose an action such as sharing, exporting, opening a file in another application, or printing. The receiving application, service, recipient, or printer provider will handle the content under its own terms and privacy practices. Please review the destination before sharing sensitive documents.
If you contact us for support, we will receive the information you choose to include in your message, such as your email address, device details, description of the issue, and any attachment you intentionally send. Do not send private documents unless you intend for us to receive them. We use support communications to respond to you, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, and maintain reasonable business records.
## 8. Data retention and deletion
Locally stored documents and related data remain on your device until you delete them, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App, subject to any copies retained in device backups or exported to other locations.
Within NextPDF, you can delete complete documents, extracted OCR text, retained source pages, and temporary files. Temporary native scan-operation files are also cleaned up after they become stale. Deletion from the App does not delete copies you previously shared, exported, printed, or backed up elsewhere.
Support communications may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to answer your request, protect the App and our rights, comply with legal obligations, and maintain appropriate records. Third-party providers determine their own retention periods under their policies.
## 9. How information may be disclosed
We do not sell your documents or OCR text. Information may be disclosed:
- when you direct the App to share, export, open, or print content;
- to the limited platform, country-detection, and advertising providers described above;
- to service providers that help us respond to support requests;
- when required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid government request; or
- when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate misuse, enforce legal rights, or protect the security of the App.
## 10. Legal bases and privacy rights
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, information is processed as necessary to provide features you request, based on your consent where required, to comply with legal obligations, or for legitimate interests such as securing, supporting, and improving the App, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, or an appeal concerning personal information we control. You may also have the right to complain to a local data-protection authority. Most NextPDF content is stored only on your device and is not accessible to us; use the App's deletion controls or your device settings to manage that content. For information processed independently by a third-party provider, contact that provider directly.
To submit a privacy request relating to information controlled by NEXTAPPS.TECH, use the contact information at the end of this Policy. We may need to verify your request before responding.
## 11. Children's privacy
NextPDF is not directed to children under 13, or to a higher minimum age where local law requires it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a NEXTAPPS.TECH account or document-upload service because the App provides neither. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through a support request, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
## 12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information handled by the App. However, no device, transmission, or storage method is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your device, reviewing backup settings, and choosing appropriate recipients when sharing or exporting sensitive content.
## 13. International processing
Third-party services and support providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Their privacy policies describe their processing locations and safeguards. Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for personal information we control.
## 14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to NextPDF, third-party services, or applicable law. We will update the date at the top of the Policy and provide any additional notice required by law. Your continued use of the App after an update is subject to the updated Policy.
