As an active member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), I am deeply committed to advancing chemistry education and supporting science educators across the country. I currently serve on the Society Committee on Education (SOCED), where I chair the K–12 Subgroup, a role that allows me to advocate for the needs of elementary and secondary science teachers and help shape national strategies for chemistry education.
In addition to my committee work, I serve as an evaluator for ACS awards and funding programs, supporting initiatives that recognize outstanding educators and innovative classroom programs. Through this work, I help ensure that resources and recognition reach educators and communities where they are needed most.
My advocacy efforts extend to national policy. As a participant in the ACS Chemistry Advocacy Workshop, I work to promote strong, equitable investment in K–12 STEM education, particularly in underserved and rural communities. This includes engaging with policymakers to emphasize the vital role of science education and the importance of sustained support for teachers.
Through these efforts, I am proud to contribute to ACS's mission of improving people’s lives through the transforming power of chemistry.
