Due to the calamitous pandemic this year, we have been forced into our homes, locked behind our home's doors, and stuck in our rooms without any hobbies. Majority of sports have been on a decline since the pandemic started but there has been a sport that has connected people from all over the world together, chess. After the pandemic, millions started joining the game of royalty.
With the formation of this chess club as a milestone in my journey to become an entrepreneur, I am urging everyone who wants to develop a sense of intuition to join this game. As we progress into the 21st century, students are getting lower scores in school while maintaining a higher IQ than ever. This simply shouldn't be happening. My goal is to educate people about this sharp game and teach them skills that they can employ off the board as well.
The Chess Club will consist of these primary elements:
Frequent Tournaments on Chess.com
Multiple Educational Seminars on Google Meet
Creating Educational Videos about Chess on Youtube
Chess Summer Camps
Private Lessons with Me
Hi, my name is Rusheel Mishra. I am a seventh grader at Millburn Middle School and a Second Class Scout in Troop 17 of Short Hills, NJ. I am the founder of The Mishra Times and I placed 1st at Millburn Middle School for the SIFMA Stock Market Game and I aspire to become a surgeon.
I have been playing chess since I was 5 years old and have won many chess tournaments as you can see below. One my favorite memories is getting one of my favorite chess books Part Two: Kasparov vs. Karpov 1975-1985 signed by Garry Kasparov himself (you can see this on the photo to the right)! I have my own youtube channel, in which I mostly post videos about chess.
In 2013, a year or so after my family and I moved from India, I started learning chess from my father. I used chess to connect with other students in my class and within a year I had won first place in the whole private school. A few years later, I moved to Short Hills where I was taught by multiple coaches. At my elementary school, Glenwood, I was able to get onto the chess team multiple times. These are some of the reasons why I am so close to chess.

Getting on to the Glenwood Chess Team As a Third Grader
Getting First Place at Akardy Geller's (one of the top players of his time) Annual Tournament
