A good friend of mine was a drummer and I got him turned on to Rush. I made sure to show him all the greatest songs with the most legendary neil peart drum parts. A few months ago he gave up drums and moved on to piano, and has become rapidly good at it. I was wondering which rush album has the best/most amount of geddy's piano/synth riffs. Only ones that come to mind are later albums like hold your fire. I was planning on getting him an album as a gift. Thanks!

It's odd, but I don't think I remember another show that hasn't offered either a lottery or rush. Super disappointed but I guess I'll grab one of the $49 from TodayTix.

From what I see in this article they are now selling rush tickets in addition to the lottery.

The general rush and digital lottery policies have been announced for the Broadway revival of August Wilson's The Piano Lesson. Beginning today, $35 rush tickets are available daily at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (241 West 47th St) box office starting at 10:00am. Tickets will be limited to a maximum of 2 tickets per person and may only be purchased for that day's performance. Tickets are subject to availability.

The digital lottery is now open at Entries for The Piano Lesson digital lottery start at 12:00am, one day before the performance, and end the same day at 3:00pm. Winners are drawn at 9:00am and 3:00pm. Winners may buy up to two tickets at $57 each.

I saw the show on a Saturday night on a whim. Got to the box office around 6:30 PM, asked for rush, they had it still. I was front row left on the aisle. Great view, great show. I believe it was $39. Definitely worth rushing! Did not expect it work out the way it did.

When I went this past Sunday, I was maybe 10th or so in line and ended up getting the last rush ticket. It was in one of the boxes - house right, so a lot of the kitchen was obstructed. I got in line maybe 30ish minutes before the box office opened.

Tried to rush on Wednesday 1/25, but took a lot longer to get there than I'd anticipated. Got in line at 9:35 am and was about the 45th person. It was a two show day, so they had a fair number of tickets, but I was still about 8 people back when the last one was sold. First person was there at 6:30 am. Might try again on Sunday since I won't really have another chance, but I'm doubtful they'll have much, if any, rush available for the final performance.

As a child, David is growing up in suburban Adelaide, South Australia and competing in the musical competition of a local Eisteddfod. Helfgott has been taught to play by his father, Peter, who is obsessed with winning and has no tolerance for imperfection, dishonour and disobedience. While playing at the Eisteddfod, David is noticed by Mr. Rosen, a local piano teacher who, after initial resistance from Peter, takes over David's musical instruction.

Crushed, David continues to study and befriends local novelist and co-founder of the Communist Party of Australia, Katharine Susannah Prichard. David's talent grows until he is offered a scholarship to the Royal College of Music in London. This time, David is able to break away from his father with the encouragement of Katharine. However, his father issues an ultimatum, effectively banishing David and saying that David will never return home and never be anybody's son.

The next day, David returns to the restaurant where the patrons are astounded by his ability to play the piano. One of the owners befriends David and looks after him.
