With match play resuming after the COVID-19 hiatus and the summer sevens season rapidly approaching, USA Rugby will work closely with clubs and event organizers to ensure a smooth and effective registration process as this program is implemented.

The Temporary Membership program creates an opportunity for USA Rugby player accident and liability benefits to extend into more events than ever. It marks the first phase of a new approach to the USA Rugby Event Sanctioning process to be rolled out later this year. Feedback and insight from community stakeholders will help guide and finalize logistics of the program rollout.

In total, four matches will be presented live this weekend with four additional top-ten teams in action, featuring World No. 7 Wales taking on World No. 8 Argentina this Saturday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. ET live on Peacock. An encore presentation will be broadcast later that day at 1 p.m. ET on NBC. On Sunday, Oct. 15, No. 6 England faces No. 10 Fiji at 11 a.m. ET live on Peacock, with an encore presentation later that day at Noon ET on NBC.

Hi all, another week another spreadhseet. Week 4 is up with all teams announced so far. Fingers crossed I'll be updating things more quickly this week as teams are announced, as long as work stays quiet!

Background/aim: Weekend warriors (WW), people who only exercise vigorously once a week, are a fast-growing population. The present study investigates LDL oxidation and activities of antioxidant enzymes in WW (n = 6) at rest and after a rugby game. The results are compared with those of sedentary controls (CON, n = 10) and trained rugby players (TR, n = 15).

Methods: LDL + VLDL conjugated dienes (CD) and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) as well as erythrocyte superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activities were analyzed in WW and TR groups before and after a rugby game.

Currently ranked sixth nationally, the Generals belong to the United States Quad Rugby Association and practice at the County's Jackson Springs Community Center. "We are really thankful for our relationship with the County," says Justin Stark, the team's manager and director of the weekend tournament.

Wheelchair rugby has elements of rugby, basketball, and hockey. It's a game of speed, skill, and endurance that provides physical and social benefits for participants. The league's motto: "Smash Stereotypes, One Hit at a Time."

On Friday night, current players and alumni kicked off Alumni Weekend at State Street Brats Tavern in downtown Madison. Alumni were happy to share their stories of rugby revelry to impress and entertain the current players.

As the Midwest entered its third weekend of play, the summer rust is off and many teams are flexing their muscles. In DI, each winning team scored over 30 points as the Chicago Lions, Chicago Griffins, Metropolis, and the Kansas City Blues outworked their opponents on Saturday. Metropolis and the Blues are now undefeated atop the west division and Lions and Griffins move to 2-1 and 1-2, respectively, in the east. The cross-town Chicago rivalry is renewed again this coming weekend as the Lions host the Griffins on Saturday.

In DII, the Green Bay Celtics and Wisconsin improved to 2-0 in the west while the Pittsburgh Forge remains the only undefeated team in the east. With wins over the Indianapolis Impalas and the South Side Irish, the Cleveland Crusaders and Chicago Blaze kept pace with the Forge and Milwaukee gutted out a 39-36 win over the Chicago Lions to pull to 1-1.

It was a party in DIII as 24 games were played in seven regions. In Chicago, CRC, the Northwest Woodsmen, the Chicago Riot, and the Lake County Gladiators each routed their competition and the Pittsburgh Forge, Akron, and the Cleveland Crusaders remained perfect in the east. The Crusaders were challenged the hardest as the Rovers were in the lead until the final play where Ryan Sands scored and David DiFrancesco booted the 33-32 game-winner.

The Bremer County Bucks pushed their record to 3-0 with a big win over Clinton Muddy River in DIII Iowa and Metropolis, Sioux Falls Crow, and the St. Cloud Bottom Feeders won in Minnesota. Up in the North, the Kalamazoo Dogs, Fort Wayne, the Tri-City Barbarians, and Traverse Bay Blues blew out their opponents and Louisville, Columbus, Queen City, and White River won in the South. Lastly, Oconomowoc Rugby demolished Fox City, 53-5, and the Oshkosh Pigs outlasted the Milwaukee Black and Blue, 31-24, in the Wisconsin region.

In DIV Buckeye, the Lancaster Men of Stone and the Columbus Castaways earned their first wins and the Westside Outcasts remained unbeaten via forfeit. Out in the Central division, the Chicago Blaze tamed the Kenosha Mammoths, 73-0 and Indianapolis blanked the Sliverbacks, 24-0, while in the Iowa division, Des Moines beat Iowa Falls, 34-12, and Cedar Rapids toughed out a 32-27 win over River City.

Coach Fabien Galthie has taken the chance to rest some of his frontline starts after the bruising encounter against New Zealand, with skipper Antoine Dupont, Matthieu Jalibert, Gregory Aldritt, Damian Penaud, Charles Ollivon, Uini Atonio and Gael Fickou all sitting this one out.

Uruguay will enter this game fresh having not been involved in Week 1 action; an upset victory is beyond them, but they will look to build some sort of momentum, or, better yet, continuity, before they play their effective 'final' against Namibia in two weeks' time. The South Americans will have taken heart from neighbours' Chile's gutsy showing against Japan last weekend, and a similar effort in which they empty the tank will do the developing rugby nation proud.

New Zealand will have little trouble accounting for Namibia, with outside backs Leicester Fainga'anuku and Caleb Clarke set to run riot against the Africans, who kicked off their campaign with a 52-8 loss to Italy. The All Blacks are a class up on Italy again, so this could be a long night for Namibia, whom New Zealand beat 71-9 in Japan four years ago. The ton could be in danger here.

Verdict: A rested Samoa will be looking to make inroads into the Pool D standings in this clash with Chile, who were anything but disgraced in their first up outing with Japan. The South Americans scored the first try in that match and showed plenty of attacking endeavour throughout, but were let down by their indiscipline which brought about two yellow cards.

They're expecting Patrice Lagisquet's side to play a similarly expansive game to the one they faced at the weekend but due to the six-day turnaround, Gatland has opted to chop and change the team. Gareth Anscombe is back at fly-half for Wales as he completes a remarkable return to the team after he missed the World Cup four years ago with a horrific leg injury. Elsewhere Gatland has gone for the all-Exeter pairing of Dafydd Jenkins and Christ Tshiunza while Dewi Lake captains the team.

Verdict: The pick of the games on Saturday, Ireland have taken no risks against Tonga by naming what is effectively full strength side, despite the looming presence of South Africa next weekend. It is a measure of respect for Tonga, who have assembled their strongest squad in recent memory with the acquisition of former All Blacks Malakai Fekitoa, Vaea Fifita and Charles Piutau.

Verdict: The Springboks have made 14 changes to the team with only Damian Willemse keeping his spot, but he shifts from fullback to fly-half. This is a test of what Jacques Nienaber's built his squad on: versatility. There are (remarkably) four scrum-halves in this group with Grant Williams on the wing, Cobus Reinach at scrum-half, Jaden Hendrikse on the bench and Faf de Klerk - usually a No.9 - covering fly-half.

Verdict: The biggest game of the weekend, this clash between the Wallabies and Fiji will go a long way to deciding who goes through from Pool C. A win for the Wallabies would have them in the box seat to progress alongside Wales, but if the Flying Fijians can do what they couldn't last Sunday then the pool could well be blown wide open.

Given the closeness of the Wales-Fiji fixture, and what is on the line here, this looms as an incredibly tight game. While Australia snapped a run of five defeats last week, they weren't all that convincing and a desperate Fiji might just steal the upset this time around.

For Japan, they make four changes with Shota Horie, Pieter Labuschagne and captain Kazuki Himeno coming into the forwards and Tomoki Osada at outside centre. The great Michael Leitch will create his own slice of Japan rugby history as he becomes the Brave Blossoms' most-capped player in the Rugby World Cup in what will be his 15th match.

While Paul Murphy from UEFA was focussed on football and not rugby, their volume and reach is huge (c. 200k assets during Euro 2021), with their DAM 2.0 in the summer following a theme of deeper integration and some superb advances in facial recognition and AI. 17dc91bb1f
