Sam Carhuayano (she/her/hers), a junior at the School of Arts and Sciences, majors in Environmental Studies and Sociology. A future environmental lawyer, she passionately advocates for social justice, particularly addressing environmental injustices impacting marginalized Indigenous, Black, and LatinX communities. Sam envisions serving inner-city populations facing historical environmental hazards, such as neighborhoods built above superfund sites. As an advocate, she addresses unique adversities, including mental health stigma among people of color. Sam works to support students in managing stress with Active Mind Rutgers for better mental well-being.
Meridian Carsky-Wilson (they/them) is a sophomore majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Creative Expression and the Environment. They are an artist, a pianist, and have performed their own composition at Carnegie Hall. Although their talents lie in engineering, they are dismayed by the destructive environmental impacts of Capitalism and Neo-Colonialism and want to help the climate to recover. In their free time they love to read, play volleyball with friends, and go on walks in their local forests.
Amillia Keagle, School of Arts and Sciences/SAS Honors Program/School of Communication and Information/Douglass Residential College '26, is a Journalism and Media Studies major with minors in Creative Expression and the Environment; Women’s and Gender Studies. She leads the RU Recycling Campaign in Students for Environmental Awareness. She is a writer, editor, and photographer for The Trail, a student-run environmental newsletter in the Human Ecology Department. Her interests lie in covering stories often overlooked by mainstream media, emphasizing the resiliency and adaptation efforts of people globally.
Mildred López Escudero (she/her/ella) is originally from Perú. She is a Ph.D. student in the Spanish and Portuguese department. Mildred's research interests lie in storytelling, community theatre, and environmental justice. Mildred thinks storytelling is a powerful technique that encourages learning and strengthens connections. Mildred loves to go to the theatre, watch movies, play with cats, learn languages, spend time with family and friends, and walk on nature reserves at Essex County Park System or any place visiting.

Sam Carhuayano (ella/ellas), estudiante de tercer año de la Facultad de Artes y Ciencias, se especializa en estudios ambientales y sociología. Futura abogada ambientalista, aboga apasionadamente por la justicia social, en particular para hacer frente a las injusticias ambientales que afectan a las comunidades indígenas, negras y latinas marginadas. Sam aspira a servir a las poblaciones de los centros urbanos que se enfrentan a peligros medioambientales históricos, como los barrios construidos sobre zonas contaminadas. Meridian Carsky-Wilson (elle/ellas) es estudiante de segundo curso de Ingeniería Mecánica con especialización en expresión creativa y medio ambiente. Es artista, pianista y ha interpretado su propia composición en el Carnegie Hall. Aunque su talento reside en la ingeniería, se sienten consternados por las destructivas repercusiones medioambientales del capitalismo y el neocolonialismo y quieren ayudar a que el clima se recupere. Amillia Keagle, de la Facultad de Artes y Ciencias, el Programa de Honores del SAS, la Facultad de Comunicación e Información y la Residencial Douglass, estudia periodismo y medios de Comunicación, con especialización en expresión creativa y medio ambiente y estudios de la mujer y de género. Dirige la campaña de reciclaje RU en Estudiantes por la Conciencia Medioambiental. Es redactora, editora y fotógrafa de The Trail, un boletín medioambiental del Departamento de Ecología Humana dirigido por estudiantes. Le interesa cubrir historias que a menudo pasan desapercibidas para los principales medios de comunicación, haciendo hincapié en los esfuerzos de resiliencia y adaptación de las personas en todo el mundo.
Mildred López Escudero (ella) es originaria de Perú. Es estudiante de doctorado en el Departamento de Español y Portugués. Sus intereses de investigación se centran en la narración de relatos, el teatro comunitario y la justicia medioambiental. Mildred cree que contar historias es una técnica poderosa que fomenta el aprendizaje y fortalece las conexiones. A Mildred le encanta ir al teatro, ver películas, jugar con los gatos, aprender idiomas, pasar tiempo con la familia y los amigos, y pasear por las reservas naturales del Essex County Park System o por cualquier lugar de visita.
