The Laughing Chickens or properly known as the Ayam Ketawa are originally from India, in fact, the word "Ayam" actually means "chicken". They are a very rare breed that you don't find to many of and are iconic for the roosters crow, which sounds like a laugh. They are not a particularly large breed of chicken, with the hens coming in at about 4 pounds and the rooster at about 6 pounds. These birds are cold hardy but prefer temperatures in the high sixties or low seventies. They are also good scavengers and love to be free range rather than locked up in a small run.
