Preet Lal is currently a graduate student in Civil & Environmental Engineering at the Michigan State University (MSU), East Lansing, USA. Before joining the MSU, he completed an Integrated Master of Technology in Geoinformation from the Department of Geoinformatics, Central University of Jharkhand, Jharkhand, India in 2020. 

His research interest includes remote sensing for environmental management and modeling climate change scenarios. Currently, his Ph.D. dissertation research is focused on the "Development of High-Resolution Soil Moisture Algorithm Using Synergy of Microwave Active and Passive Observations for NISAR Mission".
