Rachel Shook

Professional West Coast Swing Dancer,

Instructor, & Judge

Rachel discovered West Coast Swing years ago while attending college at UT and instantly fell in love with the dance. Rachel is an All Star West Coast Swing dancer that travels all over the country competing, teaching, and judging and has multiple placements in the division. Rachel practices and works diligently on her dance and loves to stay out all night social dancing. Rachel teaches private lessons, workshops, and especially enjoys teaching solo swing workshops!

Solo Swing

What is it?

Solo Swing is a dynamic and inclusive class tailored for dancers of all levels, aimed at boosting confidence in individual movement, refining musical expression, and fostering creativity through choreography that fortifies these skills, empowering dancers to level up their West Coast Swing!

Why do I love to teach this class?

While I didn't invent solo swing, I started on my West Coast Swing journey as a young adult without prior professional dance training and solo movement was a challenging yet incredibly rewarding skill that I have worked hard to cultivate. I am passionate about passing along techniques and insights I have learned through my own practice and training in hopes to empower dancers to explore their own movement body isolations, footwork, and unique movements and feel more confident about these aspects of their dance as well.
