Dharamrajh Ramdass, widely known as Raj, is an Electrical Engineer specializing in Computer Controls and a trailblazer in integrating technology into education. Raj began his journey as an educator in 1991 and has since become a leading advocate for leveraging digital tools to transform learning environments. As the former Head of the ICT Department at San Fernando Technical Institute, he spearheaded numerous innovative projects aimed at modernizing education through technology.
In 2024, Raj led a youth team to Dubai for an AI and Robotics competition centered on Youth Climate Action. Their groundbreaking project won the prestigious AWS Innovators Award, a testament to Raj’s dedication to empowering youth through cutting-edge technology. He also leads an AI development team that has launched several impactful tools, including the CSEC Math AI Tutor, AI avatar agents, AI-driven document processing solutions, AI calling agents, and more.
Raj is a highly sought-after speaker in the fields of technology and education, particularly in AI for education. He has delivered key presentations at numerous high-profile events, including the AMCHAM Cyber Conference, the CAPSS Conference in Barbados, St. Vincent, and the Bahamas, Mobile World Congress 2023 in Barcelona, the Network of NGOs' NGO CSW 67 Forum for International Women's Day, and the Global Services Sector Gender Conference in Jamaica.
Raj’s passion extends beyond his professional work, as he remains deeply committed to community service. His efforts to support educational initiatives in "Hot Spot" areas—providing critical learning resources to children from vulnerable communities—earned him the Community Heroes Award from the Ministry of Community Development in 2015. He continues to make an impact as a technical advisor and a member of the Secretariat for the Caribbean Association of Principals of Secondary Schools (CAPSS), where he launched the popular "Thoughtful Thursdays" webinar series, now in its sixth season.
Raj is also the co-founder of the non-profit organization "Restore a Sense of I Can" (RSC), which has made a significant impact across the Caribbean through its RSC Tech Club Model.
