Muriana McPherson is the Cybersecurity Director of the National Data Management Authority, where she has over 9 years of experience leading the development of their cybersecurity program and governance. Her responsibilities include managing security risks, developing strategies and policies, and overseeing the National Computer Incident Response Team.
Previously, Ms. McPherson spent 21 years at the Bank of Guyana in technical and managerial IT leadership roles.
Ms. McPherson is an ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and the holder of a Master of Science in Computer Science and the Commonwealth Master of Business Administration.
She is also a passionate educator, having taught university courses in Information Security & Assurance, and Ethical Issues & Professional Practices in Computing. She is also a “Get Safe Online Ambassador” and an advocate for safe online practices. Over the past 5 years, she has been instrumental in providing cybersecurity awareness training to over 7,000 Guyanese students and public sector employees.
