Jackson's Mountain is the second book in The Spirit trilogy. It is no longer in publication.
I wrote The Spirit as my first novel.
At that time I attended a writing seminar and the man giving the seminar was also an agent. I showed him The Spirit and he was interested. However, he told me it was too long for a first novel and asked if I would consider writing a Vietnam novel,
I hadn't, and didn't want to, but after considering that it could be published, I decided to use the characters I developed in The Spirit, and sent them in Vietnam. Many of the stories were true, and some were fiction. Those stories became Jackson's Mountain.
Surprisingly, this was the one that got published.
A couple of years after it was published by Hampshire Press, they went out of business and Jackson's Mountain is no longer available publicly.
However, I still have a few copies left I could let go if anyone really wants to read it.
