People really overuse the phrase, "died doing what he loved"
For example how often have you read a story about a person falling off a mountain while climbing to the summit, or a race car driver loosing control during a race and crashing, then hear someone saying, “How sad, but at least they died doing what they loved.”
I was a pilot for 40 years, and have been retired since 2006. I truly LOVED flying, but every time I went up I knew I did not want to die that day. I haven't flown at all since I retired and I have learned to love my new life of retirement.
Just think, if I had “died doing what I loved” a few years ago, I wouldn't be able to die doing what I love some years from now.
