Rosio Almaguer (they/them) was born and raised in unceded Chumash territory, also known as Oxnard, California. Their parents were seasonal farmworkers working in the strawberry fields and packing factories. Rosio comes from a long line of food growers, including their late father who instilled the teachings of food as medicine. Rosio's love of food and people are interconnected and interdependent. This is why they believe the future is a food system that centers the wellbeing of people and the planet, not profit.
Rosio has over a decade of program and community design experience centering justice & belonging. They believe transformative projects are created by organizations and groups of people that value care and kin centered practices.
They are currently completing their masters from San Jose State University in Urban Planning, concentration in community design and food systems.
Let me help you contribute to the creation of a local food system that centers people, not profit.
