A long-time resident of Brighton, CO, Dave Rose is the Democratic candidate for State Representative in Colorado’s 56th house district, which includes parts of Arapahoe and Adams counties. When elected as your State Representative, Dave will apply his many years of hard work and dedication to finding common sense solutions and policies for the citizens of House District 56 and for all of Colorado. Vote for Dave, and put his experience to work for you!

EXPERIENCED IN EDUCATION: Rose has a breadth of experience in education as an elementary principal in the Brighton Schools for 32 years and as a school psychologist, classroom teacher, and principal in Iowa for nine years. He continues to work in education as a part-time therapist with the Griffith Centers for Children, counseling students with truancy issues. Rose has been given the opportunity to be in local schools on a regular basis to observe the hard work and dedication of educators and the mental health needs of children. Adequate funding of education and mental health will be his number one priority as a State Representative.

EXPERIENCED IN TRANSPORTATION: As a Regional Transportation District (RTD) board member for two terms, Rose worked with RTD staff and city leaders to bring Call ‘N Ride to Brighton and a new Brighton Park and Ride at The Pavilions, which allowed for many more bus routes to be added to and from Denver. The RTD FasTracks expansion program was also approved during his terms, and he is determined to make sure the N Line (aka the North Metro Rail Line) is constructed up to Highway 7 along I-25 as initially designed. Rose currently sits on the Colorado Space and Air Port Advisory Board, where he has focused his efforts on securing the license for the airport, near Watkins, CO, to become a Spaceport site. “The Spaceport will promote new high-tech jobs and opportunities for economic development,” Rose said.

EXPERIENCED IN PUBLIC SERVICE: While no "political insider," Dave does have the knowledge and connections to get the job done as your State Representative. As a public servant, Dave has a diverse policy making background in transportation, local government, energy, and aviation. During his six-year term as a city councilman and Mayor of Brighton, he helped negotiate a very successful intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Denver to build DIA—an agreement that continues to protect citizens in the surrounding DIA area and to promote the economy at record levels. During his term of office, despite difficult economic times, the City of Brighton was able to improve parks and recreation by adding playground equipment to the parks and building the first skateboard park in the Denver Metro area.
