Actualmente soy Profesora Titular del Departamento de Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad Católica del Uruguay. Mi trabajo está enfocado en dos temas principales. Por un lado, el comportamiento político de los latinoamericanos y el estudio de la opinión pública en la región. En particular me interesa conocer los factores que influyen en las actitudes y preferencias políticas de los ciudadanos. Desde esa perspectiva he estudiado el éxito de los partidos de izquierda en América Latina (The Success of the Left in Latin America. Untainted Parties, Market Reforms and Voting Behavior. University of Notre Dame Press, 2013), las elecciones internas, el voto económico y las preferencias de los ciudadanos. Por otro lado, las políticas de drogas. I am particularly interested on the factors that influence citizens’ political attitudes and preferences.
