Roland SZABÓ

Roland SZABÓ, PhD, MSc, BSc, DfSS GB, IEEE EPS & RAS Member is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Politehnica University Timisoara, Romania, he got his PhD Engineer degree in 2015, he was also Lecturer (EU) or Assistant Professor (US), between years 2017 - 2020, and Assistant Lecturer (EU) or Lecturer (US), between the years 2009 - 2017, at the same university. He was born in Timisoara, Romania, in April 14, 1986. He is an Electronics and Telecommunications engineer since 2009 and he obtained his master degree in 2011 in Advanced Techniques in Electronics. He got a Design for Six Sigma Green Belt (DfSS) certificate from Innovensys Germany in 2015, a LabVIEW Basic I & II certificate from National Instruments Hungary in 2009, a Quality Management (QM) certificate from Continental Automotive Romania in 2009. He has also other certificates like: Requirements Engineering, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Process Engineering, Project Management (PM) or thermography. He was a hardware engineer, mainly with software tasks, developing test system software, at Continental Automotive Romania, located in Timisoara, between 2009 - 2020. He is the technical responsible for the "Programmable Logic Systems and Technologies supported by National Instruments" research laboratory. He teaches Software Development (year IV English) laboratory since 2009, course since 2017, Programmable Logic Systems (year III English and Romanian) laboratory since 2012, course since 2018, Software Project (year IV English) since 2017, Bases of Intelligent and Flexible Systems laboratory since 2018 (year III Romanian), Programming Languages 2 (year II English) course and laboratory since 2019, Microcontrollers and Microprocessors (year II English) course and laboratory since 2021 and Robotics for Medical Assistance (year II Master Romanian) laboratory since 2018, in the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Politehnica University Timisoara, Romania. He also worked at Alcatel (now acquired by Nokia), located in Timisoara, Romania. He is a LabWindows/CVI (ANSI C programming language) and NI TestStand (test sequencer language) industrial test software design trainer at Honeywell Life Safety, located in Lugoj, Romania since 2012. He won gold medal with congratulations of the jury, Taiwan special medal and the Romanian Ministry of Research and Innovation's medal at the Geneva Inventions exposition in 2019, gold medal and special prize cup at the "Traian Vuia" Inventions and Innovations Timisoara 2019 for the invention "Stick Type Portable Flash Memory on Ethernet Interface ". He has 103 publications, 61 of them are indexed in ISI Web of Knowledge, and the others indexed in IEEE Xplore, SCOPUS, DBLP or other databases. Even though his studies were more oriented towards electronics, he focused more on programming languages by getting experience in 37 programming/scripting languages with big interest on the most popular ones and on embedded systems (Java, Python, C/C++, Swift). His hobby is constantly learning and studying new emerging programming languages. Areas of interest: robotics, computer communication interfaces, measuring equipment, software drivers, servers, mobile programming, web programming, programming languages, operating systems, communication systems, embedded systems.
