Welcome! I am a Professor of Economics at the University of St.Gallen and a Research Fellow at CEPR, CESifo and OxCarre. 

My research interests are in development economics, political economics, and resource economics. My work has been published in the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, the Journal of Development Economics, the Journal of Public Economics and PNAS, and discussed by the BBC, the Economist, the Guardian, Le Monde, NZZ and the Washington Post.
