Hailing from New Delhi and a resident of South Calcutta, I graduated with a BBA (Honours) in Human Resources from Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture and Technology, Allahabad after which I went on to pursue an MBA in Marketing from Ohio University, Ohio, USA. Post MBA, I worked as an assistant teacher for English for students of Grades VI to XII at a school in New Delhi for two years before undertaking an MRes/ MPhil in Consumer Behaviour from Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool, England, UK.
Whilst residing in England, and driven with a passion for writing, I took up part-time academic researching and writing which soon transitioned into a full-time job. On returning to India, I worked within the Communications as well as the Emergency Department as the writer, editor and photographer for a Christian NGO in New Delhi. I engaged myself in writing, editing and photographing for the organisation’s publications whilst extensively travelling across India to disaster-affected regions in Supaul, Bihar; Kujeti, Uttarakhand; Barpeta, Assam; and Chennai; ergo, gaining real-time field experience in disaster relief and victim relations.
I went on to work at S.B. Patil International School, Indapur primarily as English Language teacher for students of Nursery to Grade VIII, and soon after joined S.B. Patil Public School, Pune in November 2019. Here, I began my tenure as a teacher for the English Language whilst also assisting in writing articles for the school’s activities and events – the latter of which soon became my prime focus.
Rising through the ranks, I currently head the Media and Publishing Department at the school – a job that encompasses being the Writer and Editor-in-Chief for all the school’s online and print publications and communications addressed to all stakeholders. I also serve as the personal drafter, editor and proof-reader to the Head of School whilst aiding in meticulously composing publications shared with the stakeholders, and several crucial academic; co-curricular; health, safety and wellness; human resources, and other administrative policies for the school. I also played a pivotal role in the publishing and submission of the British Council ISA Dossier – a document that was crucial in securing the British Council IDS certification for the school in January 2020.
I have partaken in several conferences, presentations, trainings, seminars and workshops; and have been the recipient of distinct awards through the years, inclusive of an Honorary Doctorate in Special Education by the International Internship University, Australia.
With many organisational, academic, non-academic and organisational publications under my name, I am also passionate about writing during my me-time, and delve in several themes and genres whilst exploring various forms of writing including quotes, poetry and essays. With a focus on keeping fit, I am an avid runner, dedicatedly indulge in daily home-workouts, and am currently undertaking karate lessons. Being a believer in autodidacticism, I am a self-taught learner of American Sign Language, and Braille Level 1: Uncontracted Braille.
