I am a faculty member in the Department of Political Studies at the Faculty of Government, Universidad de Chile. My research centers on political participation (both electoral and non-electoral), comparative politics, and labor unionism.
I currently lead a project on the political impact of protest campaigns in Latin America [Fondecyt No. 1251051] and serve as principal investigator of the Millennium Nucleus on Political Crises in Latin America (CRISPOL). In addition, I am a co-investigator in a project on urban uprisings in the region [Fondecyt No. 1240777] and in another on protest dynamics [Fondecyt No. 1220385].
I completed my undergraduate studies in sociology at the University of Chile and earned an MA in Sociology, an MA in Political Science, and a PhD in Political Science from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
