Ahead of the release of the deluxe edition, Rod Wave releases “Time Heals, a new video single that features intense piano and guitars. The video is directed by Yawn Rico and highlights Wave’s jet-setting lifestyle, full of ATVs, luxury cars, and a set at Rolling Loud.

Impressively, 14 of the album’s 19 songs charted on the Billboard Hot 100, with “Tombstone” and “Street Runner” cracking the top 20. The Polo G-assisted “Richer” peaked at No. 22.

The new songs tackle navigating fame and the impossibility of escaping his past. The deluxe will feature Lil Durk and Kodak Black and arrive on August 20 via Alamo Records.

“Time Heals” sees Rod Wave at his best, passionately singing about a love affair over a melancholic piano-infused instrumental. In the track, Rod explains how he uses his wealth as a cushion for heartbreak, to fight away his intense emotions.

On midnight Aug. 18, Rod Wave released new single “Time Heals,” while simultaneously announcing he will release the deluxe edition of his third studio album SoulFly from March on Friday (Aug. 20).

In any case, Rod Wave accompanied his announcement by treating fans to a new single and video ahead of his deluxe release.

“Dat deluxe I’m dropping Friday Kut 2 Deep,” he wrote. “After dat I’m gone.”

“Time Heals” — Rod Wave

Florida rapper prematurely releases single prior to this Friday’s full deluxe.

I had gave you all my love and ain’t get none in return

“Time Heals” leads as a new single from the deluxe version of Rod’s chart-topping SoulFly album, following his vacation recap in the successful “Forever Set In Stone” music video (10.9 million views on YouTube). Rod Wave is making expressing emotions cool again with SoulFly (Deluxe), the expansion of his acclaimed sophomore album featuring nine new tracks, including collaborations with Lil Durk and fellow Floridian Kodak Black. Rod’s lyrical content is no “get it out the mud” gimmick, and he is easily relatable to many who have risen from difficult circumstances. As Rod croons on his “Don’t Forget” track, “If you can’t feel my pain/ Well, this ain’t for you anyways.”

SoulFly saw 14 of its 19 songs land on the BillBoard Hot 100, certifying Rod Wave as not just a rising voice in rap for the future, but a notable one in the present. As we wait for his follow up deluxe which drops on Aug. 20, potentially with features from Kodak Black and Lil Durk, check out his new single “Time Heals” below.

Produced by The Superiors & Co., MalikOTB, DKeyz and MarsGawd, “Time Heals” finds the Sunshine State rapper/singer wrestling with hate and heartbreak over piano-laced production. Despite the weight on his shoulders, Rod remains resolute: “No, I won’t cry ’bout it, I can’t cry ’bout it/Heal my pain, I pull up in a new wide-body,” he croons.

With each new release, Rod Wave shows how elite he is within his niche of hip-hop that he’s pioneered along with Polo G and Morray. He continues to dig deep into his heart and pour out his grievances on songs with his smooth voice and harmonies. This is why fans have been clamoring for the deluxe to SoulFly, which Rod Wave first teased over a month ago.

No, I won’t cry ’bout it, I can’t cry ’bout it

However, fans may not hear much from Rod Wave following the album’s release as he hinted at taking a hiatus from music — or possibly something more permanent.

Meanwhile, the Yawn Rico-directed video follows Rod Wave’s jet-setting lifestyle as he hits stages across the country, flosses a new set of grills and shoots the “Before I Go” music video with Kodak Black.

Rod Wave is preparing an expanded edition of his SoulFly album. The new release will add nine new singles to the album, which features hits like “Tombstone,” “Street Runner,” and “Richer,” which features Polo G.
