Music speaks what can't be expressed,
Soothes the mind and gives it rest,
Heals the heart & makes it whole,
Flows from heaven to the soul

Rock and Roll was changing. Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and the Big Bopper were killed in the 1959 Plane crash. Chuck Berry served a couple years in prison. Little Richard had returned to preaching the gospel for 5 years. Elvis served in the Army 1959 to 1960 and just didn't come back the same. Rock and Roll was evolving, changing, and developing in the early years of the 1960's.

As Rock and Roll became increasingly popular in the mid-1950s, so too did television. By the end of the decade, more than 67 million American households owned a television set. Television programmers sought to draw in the newly emerging teenage market by capitalizing on the growing demand for all things Rock and Roll . Teen dance shows, airing in the late afternoons as the target audience came home from school and featuring fresh-faced teens dancing to the latest hits, soon became common among television’s offerings.

The Yardbirds toured Britain as the back-up band for blues legend Sonny Boy Williamson II in December 1963 and early 1964. Recordings from the performances were released two years later during the height of Yardbird popularity on the album Sonny Boy Williamson and the Yardbirds.
The Clapton line-up recorded two singles, the blues "I Wish You Would" and "Good Morning, School Girl", before the band scored its first major hit with "For Your Love", a Graham Gouldman composition with a prominent harpsichord part by Brian Auger. "For Your Love" topped the charts in the UK and Canada and reached number six in the US, but it displeased Clapton, a blues purist whose vision extended beyond three-minute singles. Frustrated by their commercial approach, he abruptly left the band in March 1965, shortly after the single was released.

American Blues- rock
Mack emerged in 1963 with his breakthrough LP, The Wham of that Memphis Man. It earned him lasting renown as both a blue-eyed soul singer and a lead guitar innovator. The album's instrumental tracks included two hit singles, "Memphis" and "Wham". In them, Mack, using "top-quality technique" and "pristine" phrasing, added "edgy, aggressive, loud, and fast" melodies and runs to the predominant chords-and-riffs pattern of early rock guitar. These tracks raised the bar for rock guitar proficiency and helped launch the electric guitar to the top of soloing instruments in rock. They served as prototypes for the lead guitar styles of blues rock and Southern rock.
