BUILDING SURVEYS

Architectural surveys and studies for existing structures

Three papers with floor plans displayed on a table with a black pen and measure tape - by Roberto Gasparini Jr.

Building surveys provide crucial data on spatial layouts, material integrity, and regulatory compliance. By mapping current conditions in detail, they offer essential insights to guide interventions, renovations, regularizations, and other necessary modifications. All types of construction can benefit from technical surveys, including residential, institutional, industrial, and commercial buildings, as well as individual architectural elements.

Residential

The projects involve detailed building and planimetric surveys of existing private homes to facilitate regularization and assess potential renovations. This essential process includes precise mapping and measurement of the properties, documenting the current condition of the structures, terrain, and spatial layouts.

The accurate data collected supports the evaluation of the feasibility of updates, expansions, or modifications, while ensuring compliance with local regulations and zoning requirements. The floor plans showcased here are selected examples of completed architectural surveys.

Institutional, Industrial and Commercial

Detailed surveys are also carried out for institutional, industrial and commercial buildings. As a sample, the technical survey featured here was conducted for a Medical Care Center slated for renovation. This comprehensive analysis served as the foundation for planning improvements and modernizations that aligned with the local medical standards and patient care needs. The survey facilitated an understanding of the existing structural conditions, allowing for the development of strategies to enhance functionality, circulation, and overall patient experience within the hospital setting.

Architectural and Construction Elements

This work is a detailed survey of a Wooden Staircase and Deck to assess their condition and explore restoration and renovation options. The survey included precise measurements and documentation to identify damages, material wear, and design issues. The goal was to restore the staircase and deck to their original charm while considering upgrades for structural integrity, safety, and modern design improvements. This type of evaluation ensures that any modifications preserve the original aesthetic while enhancing functionality, durability, and the overall environment.

These surveys form the backbone of effective architectural redesigns, enabling informed decisions that balance preservation with innovation, and ultimately ensuring that future renovations meet the demands of contemporary living standards.
