Roan Talbut

I am a PhD Student at Imperial College London, supervised by Dr Anthea Monod and Prof. Mathias Drton. I completed my BA and MMath at Trinity College, Cambridge.

I am a Roth Scholar enrolled with the Oxford-Imperial Mathematics of Random Systems CDT and the Imperial-TUM Joint Academy of Doctoral Studies project on Learning and Analyzing Discrete Geometric Structure in Statistical Models. In particular, I am studying probability measures and statistical inference for phylogenetic trees using tropical geometry. My general research interests span probability, geometry, and their applications in statistics.
