- Children and youth who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence, including:
- Living in shelters
- Awaiting foster care placement
- Living in cars, parks, abandoned buildings,
- substandard housing, etc.
- Sharing housing-doubled up due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or a similar reason (doubled up)
- Living in motels, hotels, trailer parks, camping grounds due to the lack of alternative accommodations
- Children and youth
- whose parents or guardians will not permit them to live at home.
- Run away from home and live-in runaway shelters, hospitals, abandoned buildings. streets, or other inadequate accommodations-even if their parents are willing to provide a home for them
- Have a primary nighttime residence that is a public or private place not designated for or ordinarily used as a regular sleeping accommodation for individuals.
- Migratory children in conditions above
- Unaccompanied youth in conditions above
- not in the physical custody of a parent or guardian
