I am Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sahoo, a learner of physics and currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Computation-Based Science & Technology Research Center (CASTORC), The Cyprus Institute. I received my Ph.D. in physics from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad (IIT-ISM) in July 2023 and had the pleasure of being advised by Prof. Sridhar Sahu.
I am working on electronic structure calculations, in-silico material development for energy storage/production (hydrogen storage, Batteries) applications, and CO2 capture and reduction.
In addition to this primary line of research, I am interested in:
CO2 hydrogenation to higher alcohols
Development of efficient electrode for metal ion batteries.
Electrochemical catalysis and gas adsorption.
Molecular Solar Thermal Fuels (MO-STF)
Band-structure tuning of Perovskite materials
Organic solar cells and organic LED
Optoelectronic properties of carbonaceous materials
