To celebrate "National Mathematics Day", the birth anniversary of the world renowned Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, the department has been organizing an intercollegiate seminar competition on applications of mathematics in various fields of knowledge since 2015-16. These competitions provide an opportunity to corroborate the fact that mathematics is all-pervasive.

Rules and regulations:

• Maximum of two teams are allowed from a college.
• A team can have maximum two participants of the same college.
• Participants must present their content through PPT or PDF on the day of competition. If there are two participants in a team then both of them should present the content.
• The content should contain some mathematical concepts applied to a field of Chemical Sciences like inorganic, organic, physical chemistry etc.
• Duration of the presentation 10 mins.
• Teams will be judged based on their content, presentation skills and questions asked by the judges.
• Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams in the form of a cheque bearing the name of the first participant.
• Every participant will get a participation certificate.
• Participants must carry their valid current academic year I-Card on the day of competition.
• Participants must have backup of their content. The organising team will not be responsible for any loss of content due to any reason.
• In case of any dispute, the decision given by the department will be final.
