Wedding2
[Rough Draft]
I performed this wedding for my two soul children.
The design process started by first understanding their vision.
They wanted a short wedding which included elements of Hindu, Celtic wedding as well as familiar rituals such as ring ceremony. After several meetings, here is the final product.
they also wanted honor ancestors and five basic elements of our existance.
purified by water element, they exchanged rings.
Here are the different parts (click on link or scroll below): 5 elements
Part 1: Arrival. Procession and Welcome
Part 2: Air & Ether elements and ancestor blessings
Part 4: water, fire, earth blessings
Part 5: Saptapadi and vows
Part 6: Handfasting and farewell blessing

Part 2: Air Ether Elements and ancestors
At the air element that represents life force, they smudged each other for cleansing and blowing away any worries.
took deep breath together to feel grounded in the present moment and to feel energized
Casting Circle creates sacred space. We invited directions, Gods/Godesses, native spirits and others.
We created a space for ancestors in a pot placed in Ether element.
Chanted OM at the final moments of casting

Meditation:
I led a short meditation to clear our minds, open hearts and be present together.
saptpadi vows
The 7 steps, or Saptapadi, is a traditional Indian wedding rite that takes the bride and groom through 7 vows over 7 steps together.
Water Element
Water nourishes as mother. They sipped and asked blessing to become one as water.
It also represents spiritual purity- they cleaned hands before exchanging rings with each other. Ring represents unbroaken unity.

Fire element represents light and transformation.
Bringing two wicks together represents unity. When the stream of light flows together it becomes brighter.
Earth element represents stability. Saying their final Celtic vows to each other while keeping their hands on the rock means their vows are set in stone.
Handfasting is the Celtic tradition of “tying the knot” and a symbol of joining two lives together!
Spiral dance and farewell.
Thanks to everyone. Gratitude to directions, elements, ancestors and spirits that were called forth.
