I am Ritam Chakraborty from West Bengal, India. I did my PhD from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar in 2024 and presently working with FLUENCE ENERGY- GIC (Global Innovation Center), Bangalore as a Power Electronics Engineer (R&D).
My Research Area includes the design, analysis, evaluation, and control of multiport DC-DC converters, AC-DC converters, its renewable integration and its digital implementation. I have worked on switching characterization and loss analysis of WBG (Wide Band Gap) devices and also health monitoring of power converters by non-ideal parameter estimation.
I have also worked on a digital current estimation strategy for DC-DC converters and its impact on the closed loop operation of the converter. For AC-DC multiport converters challanges of Active Power Decoupling has been addressd without adding any additional circuitry and also PFC scheme has been implemented with input current shaping technique. In the application for renewable integration, oscillations of solar power at its maximum power is reduced in my work and also a faster tracking method is derived for larger dynamics in insolation levels.
In GE-ARC (Advanced Researc Center), I have worked on Grid Forming Inverter control architecture at a system level and its challenges specifically for OFF-shore wind farms with the harmonic analysis and its fault handling capabilities.
In Fluence-GIC (Global Innovation Center), I am currently engaged in Grid-Forming Inverter Controls for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). My work also involves designing and simulating test scenarios tailored to the Australian energy market using MATLAB Test Manager.
