Gymnasia Birthday

Our gymnasia was founded in1965 as secondary school № 15. It is 55 now. In 1974 the school received the status of a general education institution with advanced study of the English language. The students of the gymnasia traditionally demonstrate a high level of English proficiency, which is manifested in victories at the Republican Olympiad in English and in the results of centralized testing. The students of the gymnasia are also actively involved in research activities. In 1974 the school became a diploma winner of the republican competition of folk talents.

Gymnasium No. 3 has experience in international cooperation. In 1989, secondary school No. 15 was included in the interschool exchange program between schools of the Soviet Union and the United Kingdom of Great Britain. Since 1990, students and teachers of the gymnasia have been exchanging letters and visits with the students and the teachers of the Latimer grammar school, located in the north London. The educational program in the UK provides for English students to visit information about the education system in the Republic of Belarus, acquaintance with the cultural heritage of the English capital and nearby cities, improvement of speaking skills in English.

Since 2000, 5th grade students of the gymnasia have been taking part in the Good Luck International Educational Project, held under the auspices of the Center for Creative Initiatives in Noginsk, Russia. Five times, the students of our gymnasia became winners of this competition, demonstrating excellent knowledge of the English language and a wide outlook, and were awarded with trips to the UK and Singapore.

In 1993-2006, 9-11 grade students took part in the US government program and studied for a year in American educational institutions.

My summer holidays

This summer I was at the summer camp named ,,Svitanok''. It was fun and unforgettable! I had many new friends there. I got a lot of colorful memories. We had a lot of sports Olympiads there. Every day we took part in different activities. One of them was a business day. We had to earn money through different contests, like guessing a melody, making origami and others. Later we could spend this money on the fear room, the laugh room, taxi etc. It was very interesting and exciting. Also we went to the forest, because we wanted to pick berries. Moreover we had noisy and super discos, where nobody was bored. It was a pity to leave this wonderful place because we had become one family. But we will be glad to see each other next summer.

My Belarus

I was born in Belarus. I love my fair land and travel around Belarus a lot. Summer is a good time to travel. In our country you can see forests, swamps, lakes, rivers, many different plants and animals. You can visit many landmarks here. For example ,Puslovsky palace. The palace is located in Brest region. It is very beautiful that's why it is often called the "knightly dream". In the 19th century the balls were held there. Now it is being reconstructed. A lot of tourists visit it every year.

Also you can visit Olman swamp. It is along the Belarus-Ukraine border . Olman swamp is very old and large. It is 100,000 hectars. It was named after the village of Olman. The swamp is a good place for people who like extreme activity. It has a unique landscape and wildlife. There are 678 species of plants,151 species of birds and 26 species of mammals. People can see rare animals and eat cranberries. Local people collect herbs and make useful tea. They have their own dialect and crafts. The air is fresh that's why Belarusian swamps are called the lungs of Europe.

Kreva castle was built in the 14 century. It is made of stone and red brick. It has a long history. There is a legend. It is about a girl who can be seen at night at the castle walls, walking her dog. They say that once two princes lived in the castle, and unfortunately they fell in love with one girl. One of them, out of jealousy, killed the other, but the girl refused to get married him. Then the enraged prince ordered her to be embedded in the wall. As she never parted with her dog, the unfortunate animal faced the same fate. After that, at the walls of the castle at night many began to see a girl walking, at whose feet her dog was spinning. If she suddenly noticed someone, she tried to charm and hug. Those who succumbed to her charms were found dead in the morning with broken bones.

We have a lot of good people who will give directions if you are tourist.

I like my country ,it will always be in my heart.

My favourite hobby

I want to tell you about my hobby. My hobby is playing football.

I will start my story from the very beginning, how I learned about football.

It was about the summer of 2015, I was just watching various cartoons on the video hosting, "YouTube", and then I came across an interesting video, it was a video about a football challenge, before that I had once tried to play, but I didn't really like playing. But after that video I became interested in football. I played with my friends, with my relatives, even some times with my dog. I especially loved football after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

I also have a favorite football team, Manchester United. I admire this team, my favorite player Paul Pogba plays there. When I play football, I try to repeat his style of playing , different chips

Every day I learn something new from the world of football. Various players transfer to other clubs, change coaches and so on.

I also remember how hard it was for me when I didn't go outside and didn't play football at all because of the quarantine.

Also, in addition to real football, I play virtualfootball , I play the computer game,, Fifa Mobile 20"

I want to sum up that without football, my life would not be so interesting and exciting. I wouldn't know many of my friends. I don't know what would have happened if I hadn't come across that football challenge 5 years ago.

International Literacy Day

International Literacy Day (ILD) 2020 focuses on Literacy teaching and learning in the COVID-19 crisis and beyond with a focus on the role of educators and changing pedagogies. The theme highlights literacy learning in a lifelong learning perspective and therefore mainly focus on youth and adults. The recent Covid-19 crisis has been a stark reminder of the existing gap between policy discourse and reality: a gap that already existed in the pre-Covid-19 era and is negatively affecting the learning of youth and adults who have no or low literacy skills and therefore tend to face multiple disadvantages. During Covid-19, in many countries, adult literacy programmes were absent in the initial education response plans, so the majority of adult literacy programmes that did exist were suspended with just a few courses continuing virtually, through TV and radio, or in open air spaces.
