Dr. Risha Mal is an Assistant Professor Gr - I, in School of Agro and Rural Technology at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. Her background is Electrical and Electronics Engineering. She has developed a portable solar powered cane slicing machine and a thermoelectric generator integrated biomass cookstove for the rural people. She has patents on the said technologies. She is a highly motivated researcher for design and development of all sorts of innovative sustainable energy solutions in rural areas. She has nearly 15 journal papers, 20 conference papers, 1 book on her name. She has handled 3 external funded projects. Her research interest lies on design of solar powered machines, advanced cookstove design and testing and other sustainable energy system design. Her lab is known as "Sustainable Energy Lab" which is a one stop for all energy related solutions in rural areas.
