Join Rise Up for a Candlelight Vigil for SA and Human Trafficking Survivors on November 24, 6:00 pm at Frederick City Hall Park, 101 N. Court St. During this time together, we will hear about our need as a community to remember those who have survived SA and human trafficking. Niki Thrash, Executive Director of Heartly House will be one of the speakers.
Join the vigil, In this Together: Healing and Hope in Divisive Times, on November 30, 6:30-7:15 pm, Frederick City Hall Park, 101 N. Court St. This vigil will acknowledge the grief we are experiencing in our country and families. Speakers include Mayor Michael O’Connor and Kendra Speicher- Eisenstark, a therapist working with the topic of political grief.
Join the monthly meeting for a "Buy Nothing" Holiday Bazaar and Party on December 8, 6 - 7:30pm, at 15 W Church St.
Donate or volunteer for the Food Distribution Event at the Asian American Center of Frederick (AACF) on December 13, exact time is TBD, 45 E All Saints St. Rise Up has been invited to join AACF in providing funds to purchase food for 100 immigrant families. Our gift of $1500 will enable the Center to purchase culturally appropriate groceries – ingredients that honor their traditions, support their health, and help them feel at home in our community. Volunteers will be needed to help distribute the food. Bring cash or check donations to the December 8 party.
