In the present, Hamato Yoshi who had fallen in love with the Yokai Big Mama, now goes by the name of Splinter, raising four turtle sons and training them to defend themselves if the need arises, supporting them by taking missions from Big Mama's Syndicate and leaving them to their own devices during the day.

As tension rises within society between the Humans and Yokai; Raph, Donnie, Leo, and Mikey are growing up-- growing stronger, inviting more and more threats to rise. Look, before someone starts throwing tomatoes i want to clarify something: I like Splinter from Rottmnt and i really like Rise of the Tmnt. People who have followed me for a while know i enjoy the series and im sad about it how was cancelled. I also want to say that i dont think other Splinters are 100% perfect and they have their own issues too.

What i dont like is how the Rise of the tmnt fandom often overlooks Rise Splinters character flaws and pretends that he is a perfect father figure because this is not something supported by both by the narrative and his character growth.

The tmnt wiki describes Rise Splinters personality as a Extremely flawed (albeit loved) father figure. This means that he has tons of flaws but he cares about his family: One clear example is when he helps Raphael with fighting his fear in Mrs. Cuddles. He protects the big turtle a few times from the giant puppet monster and they defeat the monster together.

In conclusion: In Rise of the tmnt, Splinter starts as somewhat a neglectful parent figure, sometimes acting childish and not being the best role model for their sons. Overtime he begins to understand the consequences of not training his family and gets more involved in their lives. He tries to be a responsible father despite he had tons of issues with his own family growing up. While very flawed, he has good intentions and cares deeply about his sons.

A few days back i made some polls asking the tmnt fandom which is their favourite turtle from the Tmnt 2003, Tmnt 2012 and Rottmnt series. I said the polls would be opened until today ( 1st July) at night and then post the results.

Minor comments: I didnt expect Leonardo to get most of the votes. It surprised me that Mikey wasnt more popular in the results given he very iconic character and seems to be well liked by the fandom. I predicted Leonardo would gain many votes in the Rise of the tmnt polls since he is the most popular character next to Donatello and April.

It was pretty fun making this polls. Keep in mind that this doesnt represent the entire tmnt fandom because it is a very big and old fandom. These results only represent a very small example of what the tmnt fandom thinks about the characters. Dont take it as true representation of the community.

I wouldnt be surprised if the real reason of why Rottmnt was cancelled was because of the upcoming Tmnt 2023 film being production. This is based of pure speculation, of course. I have no real proof to support this.
